With about 100 entries in the Open 4D, the show at Simmons Equestrian Center in Negley, Ohio, lasted until almost midnight Saturday, March 27. As barrel racers who chose not to go to Dillsburg, Penn.’s Diamond 7 or Lewisburg, Ohio’s Circle G Arena flooded northern Ohio to run in the 14-15 second pen at SEC. Tausha Schneider took home most of the money for the day, winning the Warm-Up 4D with a 14.6 and the Open 4D with a 14.7.
What: IBRA/Penn-Ohio show at SEC
Who: Barrel racers, male and female, from mainly northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania
Added Money: $500 added Open 4D, $50 added Warm-Up 4D, $100 added Youth
The Ground: Consistent. It was worked at most every eight horses but at times every six horses to maintain consistency.
Overall: This was a great second show of the year for Penn-Ohio. The food in the kitchen was great, the outdoor warm-up pen was a plus with the good weather and the holding pens inside the arena were spacious enough for everyone who needed to be in the pen. The frequent tractor drags made the show run a bit slower, but the announcer kept horses moving and announced beforehand when horses should be in the pen. There were lots of exhibition runs to be had in both poles and barrels, which was good for those who needed the practice and not so good for those who wanted the show to get underway.
Yayy the announcer my mother haha.. It was an awesome show. Im so glad I got to see you girlfriend!
